The reason I chose this photo for my writing assignment is because you really have to look into the photo and analyze all the elements to understand what the photo is trying to project. This photo is evoking a feeling of sadness and ungratefulness. We can see that sadness shows through the look of the veteran because he is looking down into the darkness. The dark tone to the right of the photo adds to the purpose. We can see ungratefulness displayed in the actions of the people in the background. While they enjoy their liberties and freedom of reading and looking through their tablets, the veteran stands up on the subway with none of them giving up their seat. The shadows and dark colors towards the veteran give it that serious tone. This photo just makes me sad and makes me believe there is not hope for mankind. Tisk tisk.
